BALANCE AND FORM: MARTIAL ARTS AS A METAPHOR FOR MANAGERIAL SKILLS

OBJECTIVES

Use the metaphor of martial arts to engage people in managerial roles in an experiential way to share useful reflections with them to take to their work place.

The key issues on which to focus the experience are the following.

  • Equilibrium and self-control. Transfer techniques to increase concentration, manage stress and control one’s reactions, developing emotional awareness of oneself
  • Strive for excellence. Experiment the typical approach and mentality of martial arts which is balance-oriented, with continuous improvement, consolidation of self-esteem and overcoming one’s limits
  • Effective relationships. Develop the ability to anticipate and manage conflict, through empathy, ability to read your interlocutor, the definition and implementation of a conscious relationships strategy

The learning will be contextualized to meet managerial challenges and provide techniques and reasons for an interpretation of the renewed very strong goal-oriented role.
