The Sustainable Craft Networks Project aimed to identify, analyze, and share the wealth of knowledge, know-how and best practices necessary to support both small, craft businesses and the associations they belong to, to:

  • satisfy labour market needs,
  • encourage sales,
  • improve and innovate production processes

Craftmakers generally produce specific often “labor intensive” items, many of which require complex design and/or a wealth of “traditional” knowledge.

As a result of the economic crisis, many small businesses risk closing, so it is extremely important that these companies learn from each other how to make their business more innovative and sustainable (peer learning).
